Overview & Features
Frame Sequential Technology
Panasonic uses full-HD sequential playback to achieve a level of reality that far exceeds conventional 3D systems. Called the Frame Sequential Method, it's the same method that is used in Hollywood's 3D films. It reflects our commitment to 3D imaging detail. Separate images recorded in 1920 x 1080-pixel resolution for both the left and right eyes are alternately displayed at the ultra-high speed of 120 frames per second.* Viewing them with high-precision 3D Eyewear produces 3D images in full-HD quality.
* The frame rate varies depending on the 3D image signal being reproduced. For example, 3D images are reproduced at 120 fps (frames per second) for a 60Hz input signal, and 100 fps for a 50Hz input signal.

Panasonic 'FULL HD 3D' is defined as follows: |

3D 24p Smooth Film
VIERA incorporates technology that analyses picture information in both the preceding and succeeding frames, and creates a precise supplementary frame between them. This suppresses the jerky effect seen in movies, so playback is smooth and natural-looking. The distinctive tonal qualities and atmosphere of the movie are preserved, and you enjoy extremely lifelike 3D images.

2D-3D Conversion
Unique Panasonic technology converts 2D images into high-quality 3D images in real-time. The technology generates a detailed depth effect for each type of image, so the 3D effect is natural and realistic. Use VIERA to enjoy Blu-ray movies, DVD movies and even ordinary TV broadcasts in 3D. The Resolution Enhancer function allows images that were converted from 2D to 3D to be displayed in sharp, clear 3D while minimising double image. 3D images with crisp contours are also produced from 3D broadcasts using the side-by-side method.
* When a 2D source is converted to 3D, the 3D effect is slightly less pronounced than with 3D sources.

3D Adjustment Function
The addition of 3D image quality adjustment functions lets you enjoy 3D images more comfortably. The visual disparity between the eyes, which determines the 3D leaping effect, can be adjusted in 7 steps.

3D Image Viewer
It's easy to view 3D photos and movies you shot yourself on the big VIERA screen. After shooting with your 3D-compatible camera or camcorder, simply insert the SD card into the slot on a 3D-compatible VIERA TV. The viewing is incredible, with images so realistic it feels as though you're right back in the moment. You'll find that life's special moments are even more memorable when you preserve them in 3D.

600Hz Sub-field Drive
Panasonic uses its own unique image-analysis technology. This technology converts the motion in each scene into data, and each frame is virtually displayed in a shorter length of time than in previous 600Hz systems, to create crisp images.
* When using Cinema mode.

24p Smooth Film
Enjoy naturally flowing 24p films and familiar TV-like quality. In plasma displays, increasing the number of frames creates smoother images. When reproducing images from a 24p film source, VIERA's 24p Smooth Film function generates smooth, natural-looking images.

Wide Colour Viewing Angle
No matter where you sit in the room, you see breathtaking images with spectacular colours. Plasma TVs are self-illuminating, so images look beautiful from any angle. Black areas do not fade, and colours look virtually the same from every point in the room.
* Measured using an index for evaluating colour viewing angle developed by the Advanced PDP Development Centre Corporation (APDC). This ensures that you will enjoy exceptional viewing quality even in the largest living rooms.

Resolution Enhancer
The Resolution Enhancer function restores the fine definition and detail that are inherently part of the image but sometimes lost in reproduction. Each area within the image frame is digitally processed for optimum quality. This process up-converts standard-definition images – such as those from TV broadcasts and DVDs – to a level approaching full-HD.

Deep Colour
VIERA faithfully reproduces all the colours inherent in today's most advanced image sources, such as Blu-ray Discs and DVDs. Use an HDMI cable to connect VIERA to the playback device, and you'll enjoy the kind of rich, vibrant colours that make viewing such a pleasurable experience.

x.v.Colour
VIERA models with x.v.Colour compatibility reproduce all of the vibrant colour in images recorded by wide x.v.Colour gamut compatible camcorders. These rich, vivid images are a feast for the eyes.

VIERA Connect
The exciting world of Cloud-based Internet Service, centering on TV, is about to begin for the enjoyment of the entire family. Now you can enjoy intuitive remote control while relaxing on the living room sofa, with a wide variety of content at your fingertips.

* Only the apps are available as of July 2011.
VIERA Image Viewer
Equipped with an SD card slot, VIERA makes it easy to view full-HD photos and motion images that you shot yourself. Simply insert the SD memory card into the slot, and you're ready to view your photos and full-HD videos on the big screen. You can make your slide shows even more impressive by adding background music and attractive frames. With VIERA's big screen and superb image quality, family and friends will love sharing your memories. More formats are now supported for both photos and movies, to bring you even more enjoyment.
* This TV supports Motion JPEG data recorded by a Panasonic LUMIX camera. It may not be possible to play some files depending on the recording conditions.

DLNA / Wi-Fi Ready
Connect a DLNA-compatible VIERA and DLNA-compatible AV equipment to your home network, and you can watch movies, listen to music, and view photos from any room in the house. VIERA's Wi-Fi capability gives you even more layout flexibility.
* Wireless LAN Adaptor is not included.

USB Connection
Use the USB terminal to watch PC-stored photos and videos, or listen to music, on your large-screen VIERA TV. Similar to VIERA Image Viewer, you can enjoy a variety of easy-to-use functions, such as slideshows and thumbnail displays. You can also connect a USB Keyboard and Wireless LAN Adaptor for more comfortable VIERA Connect enjoyment.

VIERA Tools
The VIERA Tools user interface makes it easy to access and understand key functions. Simply press a function button, and an explanation appears on the screen. Keep the button pressed to activate the function immediately.
* The VIERA Tools screen design is subject to change without notice.
** The screen display varies depending on the model.

Game Mode
Games are much more fun when there's no lag in operation. VIERA automatically chooses settings that provide the optimal image, so you get super-fast response and no delays. Even dark scenes with delicately rendered details are beautiful and easy to see.

VIERA Link
VIERA Link interlinks the operation of a variety of AV devices, so you can operate them all using only the VIERA remote control. Setup is easy – simply connect the devices to each other via HDMI cables.

ARC (Audio Return Channel)
Using a single HDMI cable, VIERA can output the audio portion of a TV broadcast to your home theatre system, so you can enjoy full-fledged surround sound. You no longer need two cables to connect VIERA to a home theatre system.
* An ARC compatible model is required.

Remote Control with iPhone / iPod touch / iPad and Android Smartphones
Using the VIERA remote app over a Wi-Fi (wireless LAN) network lets you operate a VIERA TV more intuitively than with an ordinary remote control. Using slide and flick operations, you can flip through the channels, switch external inputs, and control the volume while viewing the VIERA screen.
* In order to use the VIERA remote app, it must be downloaded from the App Store (iTunes Store) or Android Market.
* Operation Requirement: iPhone / iPod touch / iPad with iOS4.2 or later.
* Compatible with Android Version 2.2 or later.
* This feature may not be available in some regions.

Mercury and Lead Free Plasma Display Panel
Panasonic is committed to making our products more friendly to the environment. In line with this commitment, all VIERA plasma display panels are free of both lead and mercury. This reduces impact on the environment years down the road when the TV is recycled or retired from use.

Long Panel Life, Up to 100,000 Hours
One important way consumers can protect the environment is by choosing high-quality products and taking care of them so they last for a long time. A high-quality VIERA TV can help. Thanks to a newly designed phosphor process and rear panel process, our plasma panels last for up to 100,000 hours before the brightness decreases by half. That's more than 30 years of viewing 8 hours a day.
* This measurement is based on the time taken for the brightness of the panel to reduce to half of its maximum level. The time taken to reach this level may vary depending on the image content and the environment where the TV is used. Image retention and malfunctions are not taken into account.

Eco Navigation
Standby Power Save
When the VIERA power is turned off, the power consumption of connected devices* is minimised.
* 2009 or above VIERA, and 2009 or above video products compatible with Power Save or Quick Start.
** The power consumption value differs depending on the discs used in connected devices and the usage conditions.

Intelligent Auto Standby
Power consumption is minimised by using VIERA Link control for interconnected devices.
* 2009 or above VIERA, and 2009 or above video products compatible with Power Save or Quick Start.

Gentle on the Eyes
Eye fatigue is suppressed, so both children and adults can watch TV in comfort, even with extended viewing. In a plasma TV, each pixel illuminates and its brightness is adjusted for every scene. For this reason the images are not overly bright.
